Gerard D'A Henderson is truly an international man. In his veins run Irish/English/Scottish and Swatow blood. He spent most of his childhood in Penang and Singapore. He was born in Kuala Lumpur, the son of an intellectual Irish plantation owner and a beautiful and artistic Chinese mother. He grew up amidst the warm sites and sounds of pre-war Malaya and the contrasting cultural heritages of his parents' home - happily escaping the mould of the English Public School.

He started his career as a first violinist with Radio Malaya and the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, before training as an artist in Spain to become one of the leading International Muralists of our time. Renowned for his giant sculptural reliefs which are featured in buildings all over the world.

A deeply spiritual man, Henderson has made pilgrimages to various shrines, temples and lamaseries throughout Central Asia and over the Silk Road.

Cosmic mandalas, symbols and images inspired by Buddhist iconography including sensuous immortals and celestial nymphs submit themselves to Henderson's strictly authentic and unique concept.
